To support lifesavers and spread the message of surf safety to its thousands of guests annually, Ingenia Holiday Parks has today announced a partnership with Surf Life Saving NSW.
Kicking off with interactive ‘Surf Safety Sessions’ throughout November, Ingenia Holiday Parks will also serve as a sponsor of the 2022 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships and be the Naming Partner for the Junior Life Saver of the Year Awards as part of the partnership.
Ingenia Holiday Parks General Manager Tourism Matthew Young said with many of Ingenia’s resorts and parks situated on the NSW coast, the partnership was a natural alignment of the two brands. “With so many of our holiday parks located along NSW’s coastline, we see great synergy in our partnership with Surf Life Saving NSW,” Mr. Young said. “Young families love our parks, so we’re also extremely proud to sponsor the State Championships and support the development of junior lifesavers through the upcoming Junior Lifesaver of the Year Awards.
“This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity to increase park patron safety at the beach while encouraging the outdoor active lifestyle synonymous with enjoying our parks.” More than 11 million people visited NSW beaches last financial year, with Surf Life Saving NSW rescuing 3,768 people and performing 705,898 preventative actions. “The surf safety sessions at Ingenia Holidays One Mile Beach, Broulee, and Bonny Hills were a success in November.
We’re excited to expand these sessions in 2022 to more parks throughout NSW in conjunction with offering this program to schools and sporting groups who visit our parks. “The surf safety sessions are designed to help kids recognise lifeguards and hazards at the beach while emphasising the importance of Surf Life Saving’s message to swim between the flags.
“The partnership will also include First Aid and Mental Health First Aid training opportunities, which will, in turn, help our staff to feel supported when it comes to their safety and wellbeing.”
Surf Life Saving NSW Chief Executive Officer Steve Pearce said the partnership would support Surf Life Saving members and the broader community. “Our partnership with Ingenia Holiday Parks aligns well with our brand and values and will help us save lives and build better communities,” Mr. Pearce said.“
The commitment that Ingenia has made to their holiday park guests is commendable and we look forward to teaming up together to ensure guests not only have a great holiday but get home safely. “We are delighted to partner with Ingenia Holiday Parks and look forward to working together to support our members and the broader community.”
