One Mile Beach
Combining picture perfect views and family friendly waves, One Mile Beach is a great spot to take a swim or brush up on your surfing skills. Enjoy a picnic or barbeque in the large park that overlooks the beach and keep a look out for the frolicking dolphins that can often be seen playing in the waves.
Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters
Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters is a unique interactive aquarium that allows visitors to get up close, feed and interact with the marine life. Pull on a wetsuit and come face to face with up to 190 sharks and rays while you learn about these amazing creatures and what can be done to protect their natural environments.
Camel Rides
Oakfield Ranch gives visitors the unique opportunity to explore Birubi Point, vast sand dunes and sweeping beaches on camel back. Enjoy a 20 minute ride to take in the stunning views of the area or for something a little different book an hour long ride to enjoy the serenity of Anna Bay at sunset.
Point Stephens Lighthouse
The elegant and striking Point Stephens Lighthouse was built in 1862 and sits on Fingal Island, a short boat ride from the mainland. The lighthouse balcony provides beautiful views over the island and the surrounding coast. Take a walk along the beach or discover the ruins of the burnt out keepers’ cottages that still remain on the insland.
Tomaree National Park
Tomaree National Park near Port Stephens offers a combination of sweeping views, history and wildlife. Take a glimpse into the area’s military past with interpretive signs and World War II Gun emplacements at Fort Tomaree or hike to the top on the summit walk to enjoy magnificent views of Port Stephens and the surrounding islands.
